Meeting time: 1:00pm Eastern Zoom connection information is sent out by email; please reach out to Paul if you don't have the current link.
Agenda
- Activity updates
- General discussion
Open Issues to be followed up later
- Discussions with M. Pitt & J. Musson to understand the beam monitor signals we'll be getting
- Draft timing diagram: DocDB 790
- Michael, Bob, Brynne, and Paul should put together a list of the integrator running modes we would like to have available
Minutes

Participants: M. Gericke, W. Gu, C. Cuevas, P. King, A. Sen, R. Conaway, B. Moffit, S. Chatterjee, B. Blaikie, D. Bishop, R. Michaels, B. Shaw, K. Dehmelt, D. McNulty
- Status of specification document
- I had gotten an email about the "latency mode" out just before the meeting, to Michael, Bryerton, Bryan, and Bob. We should be able to discuss this by email and get the spec document wrapped up soon
- Brynne: she tried using the test code from Bryerton, but now the boards are not showing the mis-behavior on channel six.
- Expects to get boards sent out next week or so
- Ask about what tests we can do to show the TI is working. One aspect is to check the TI timing offset latency
- Bryan would like to be able to check the relative timing of the trigger arrival and the issuing the internal trigger
- William would have the "big delay" on the TI-bridge and use the delay setting on the ADC for fine adjustments
- Bryan and William think it may be possible to see just looking at the timestamps between a master TI and the ADC's TI. William will check on that.
- Bryan says that he has a zeromq interface. He will start working on the TI readout; the rest of the readout depends on the specification document
- Bob reports that Zhongling Ji, a postdoc from Syracuse, will be working on developing the GEM readout for the Moller polarimeter, working with Hanjie and Chandan. He will also be working with Bob on the digital beam monitor readout
- Michael
- Asking about the status of the TI order: The TI boards that were ordered are at JLab; the boards had an incorrect resistor installed, and JLab is working on a RMA with the vendor. William thinks the boards should be fixed within about a month.
- Asking Bryerton about the fiber readout: the QSFP ethernet connection is now working
- Do we need a specific QSFP transceiver? Any 1000baseX transceiver should work in the ADC. It may matter which network equipment they are connected to, some switches need to connect to the same type transceiver.
- Daryl says that we will need to have an adapter module for the data QSFP, to get a SFP connection for the network connection
- Michael asks about the 10Gig link over the fiber. Bryerton says that the issues with the 10Gig Comblock IP may have been due to a bad cable. He's going test it again now that he has a good cable.
- Daryl points out the the switch would need to support 10G SFP+.
- Discussion about testing the TI
- The TI-pcie has a output that should be able to use a timing reference and could be compared to a signal on the ADC
- If we want to do a synchronization test of two ADC modules, William will fix one of the TI boards himself, and send it to TRIUMF
- Actually, Bryan, William, and Bryerton will coordinate what is needed to be able to do the test at JLab
- Brynne will get two rev1 ADCs ready to send to JLab, and one additional FPGA module. They will use the FPGA from the rev0 board and will set up the synchronization test
- Actually, Bryan, William, and Bryerton will coordinate what is needed to be able to do the test at JLab
