Meeting information
Meeting time: 1:00pm Eastern Zoom connection information is sent out by email; please reach out to Paul if you don't have the current link.
Agenda
- Activity updates
- General discussion
Open Issues to be followed up later
- Discussions with M. Pitt & J. Musson to understand the beam monitor signals we'll be getting
- Draft timing diagram: DocDB 790
- Michael, Bob, Brynne, and Paul should put together a list of the integrator running modes we would like to have available
Minutes
Recording at zoomgov:
Participants: R. Michaels, P. King, R. Conaway, M. Gericke, W. Gu, B. Moffit, K. Dehmelt, D. Bishop, R. Fair, B. Shaw, H. Liu, S. Regmi, S. Chatterjee, W. Li, D. McNulty
- Michael reports that the first seven of the remaining prototype boards are being shipped to Manitoba to be tested. The eighth is delayed slightly waiting on a component but is expected shortly
- The latest firmware is needed to fully test the new boards
- After they've been tested at Manitoba they would be ready to send out
- We should add some standoffs below the FPGA so that we can insert and extract the module
- Michael has a CAD drawing of the housing as modified for the new board; he'll send that to Chris and Armen
- Daryl will send his suggestions for the standoffs to Chris also
- Bryan has an updated stand-alone driver for the JLab Helicity Generator board
- Bryan has had some success with the zmq interface. He hasn't tried writing to the registers yet.
- Discussion of the integration mode readout
- The standard readout would get the sum, sum of squares, min, max, and number of samples for the four subblocks and the full window
- Discussion of how to to get a waveform for a subset of the helicity windows into the stream for CODA for the timing alignment
- Getting the waveform for 16ch of one helicity window (~7000 samples) would be 448 kbytes of data --- Bryerton thinks that we might overfill the buffer before the DMA would read it out
- Could use a narrower helicity readout window, trigger on the beam sync signal, and walk the trigger time relative to the beam sync in order to find the tune-mode pulse in all the channels
- Bryerton will take a look at how many samples we could take from all 16ch and how long it would be before we could grab another waveform
- Other options would be to only do this for a subset of the channels.
- Getting the waveform for 16ch of one helicity window (~7000 samples) would be 448 kbytes of data --- Bryerton thinks that we might overfill the buffer before the DMA would read it out
- We'll work to get the specification document over the next two weeks, and then ask the TB if they want a full presentation or just to look at the spec document
- Manitoba has submitted another run of the PMT base + amplifiers
