Minutes
- We will get an update from Rakitha on the Trigger Scintillator next week. Chandika needs a newer version of the TS holder design to incorporate into Rotator CAD.
- (Chandika) Has found a new lead-screw based linear actuator for the radial motion; this would avoid the need for brakes for the radial motion - good! Stainless steel drive screws, so should be OK.
- (Bhasitha) Working on design changes to reduce how far out the gas connectors stick, to avoid interference with GEM rotator.
- (David) Asks Bhasitha about the total needed gas flows for the GEMs. We need 5 complete flushes per hour; Bhasitha will check the numbers and get back to me (post meeting answer: The internal volume of each MOLLER chamber is ~2.1 cubic decimeters. What we require is about 5 gas volume changes per hour. So the requirement is ~0.011 cubic meters per hour per single chamber, so for the system of 28 tracking detectors this is 0.308 cubic meters per hour. But I think it's better to have some safety margin and set up for a bit higher flow requirement if possible. Also need to include the polarimeter GEMs).
- (Klaus) Asks Bhasitha if he can investigate simplifying gas system by only having one outlet per chamber, rather than the 5 of the present design. Will work on this.
