Minutes
- (Nilanga) Getting ready to order foils from CERN; need to get in queue for production in June; can make minor changes if needed to design between now and production. Should have a Technical Board meeting to approve purchase order. Frames will again be from Resarm.
- (Nilanga/Bhasitha) Can adjust design of the gas outlets/piping to reduce possible interferences with GEM rotator, reduce mass of manifold pieces
- (Jim) suggests incorporating strain relief for HDMI connectors to distribution board. This distribution board (which converts to Panasonic connectors to the GEMs themselves) is a very inpexpensive PCB board, easy to modify the design.
- (Nilanga) UVA prototype studies: holds HV fine, cosmic data (low stats) looks good; tested with x-ray source, no dead sectors. All this is using SRS (not MPD) readout. Plan to take to JLab and put in the SBS test stand (MPD readout) and look at efficiency maps. The prototype works very well showing highly stable performance under operational high voltage. No high voltage trips have been observed in operation for over two months. The signals from the prototype have been measured and are in good agreement with the epected strengths (Average ADC values around 150 channels under operational gain conditions). The pedestal noise levels have been easured and they agree with what is expected (average around 15 ADC channels).
- (Klaus) SBU prototype not yet fully assembled; needed some peripheral equipment. Has an APV/SRS readout system to use for testing with cosmic rays, cosmic ray stand under assembly. Will test HV stability, then with cosmics and x-rays.
- (Jim) Need a short Tech note on the use of long HDMI cables to close out the recommendation. Maybe can do using the SBS test scan setup.
