  • W&M DAQ update
    • We have had the DAQ run for a week continuously without having the PEB crashes. So the crashes seem to have been some transient issue. If they start to reoccur, we'll reach out to Bryan to help investigate
    • Brynne has installed a few detector modules into both segments, so we should be able to start getting data in multiple channels
    • Next week KK will be at JLab to test the segment lifting fixture. This will require disconnecting all the detectors from the DAQ for a day or so
    • Arindam has installed Vivado on the server at W&M to use in developing the VTP firmware. He will get a copy of Simona's pion detector test firmware off of indra
    • We will need to have some more network ports when we're ready to install the HV and LV supplies. David will see if he has a network hub we could add, otherwise Paul will buy one.
  • Updates on the ESB test stand
    • Simona has installed the VTP in the crate, and has Diagui set up
    • She will be working on the CODA configuration next week, and then would start work on the VTP firmware
    • She'll also set up a second crate to be able to do testing of triggering like we plan to do in the experiment, and will reach out to Bob and Chris C. to get the CPU, TI, VTP and so on
  • Updates on the test lab DAQ
    • The VTP is set up on Hanjie's server there, so everything ought to be ready to start working with the pion detector testing
    • Simona, Zhongling, Arindam, and David will meet next Tuesday starting at 9am
  • Simona has not heard further about the possibility that we would need to give up some of the DAQ test space in the test lab
    • Dustin is waiting to deliver his DAQ and other equipment until it is clear if we have the space, he wants to bring it by the end of January
    • Simona will follow up with Walt to get clarity on what's going on
  • Michael has received all the PCBs and components for the PMT bases and amplifiers.
    • He is expecting to send the first batch for use at W&M soon, and asks if it would make sense to use Dustin's test stand to characterize the gains of the PMTS+bases
    • Dustin's DAQ isn't set up yet, so doing the testing at W&M or JLab would require setting up something from scratch. Michael will plan to do the gain characterization at Manitoba
    • Dustin suggests that once we have a set of detector modules in the W&M test stand, it might be possible to do the gain testing by swapping PMTs into the detectors.
    • Michael was mostly concerned with the integrating mode gain measurements; we should revisit this question when we think about what integrating mode resources we have where
  • Michael has gotten some responses from Chris and Ben about the HVMAPS readout, and he is now going to go with the Bittware FPGA cards. He could get six cards now, and the others are estimate to have a ~30wk lead time.
  • We will plan to meet on December 20, but will not have the following meeting on January 3. The grand scheduling poll is starting to circulate; Paul will send it out to the mailing list to decide on a DAQ meeting time for the spring.
