- Status of W&M DAQ
- See https://dilbert.physics.wm.edu/Main+Detector/5.
- The W&M DAQ system is now running with a 4x2 NIM-based trigger. Arindam is working on
- The PEB has been crashing periodically. The next time it happens Sayak/Arindam will get screenshots of the PEB window and send to Bryan to help diagnose the issue.
- Bryan asks how much RAM the host computer has; we will check and get back with him by email
- The RAM is 32GB; this is regarded by Bryan as an acceptable minimum RAM to work with CODA3
- Bryan suggests trying to see what other processes might be running when the crashes happen
- We need to make sure that we are able to operate the DAQ continuously, as one of the KPPs is to take 4 days of cosmics with a fully populated set of segments.
- Brynne had met with Andreas Ruben about the switching modules; apparently there is a delay on the PCBs and we may not have them until Jan/Feb
- For now, we'd have to swap polarities by hand to be able to test the integrating base chain
- Simona and Steve have gotten the CPU set up for the ESB test stand, and this afternoon will be setting up the VTP
- See https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4322120 for the details
- Simona passes on a suggestion that we put entiers into the MOLLER logbook at logbooks.jlab.org. Note that there is a bug in being able to see the MOLLER logbook entries, you need to "include MOLLER" when you
- The new FADC v3 modules are starting to arrive at the lab
- Bryan says that the firmware available for these modules right now is the Hall D firmware, which doesn't have the VTP functionality. Ben hasn't had a chance to work on the "Hall B" firmware for the v3 modules yet.
- Hanjie mentions that Hall C had asked Ben to merge the Hall D and Hall B firmware, so that both waveform and pulse integral outputs are available from the board.
- Bryan has started the driver library for the v3 boards, and the interface is designed to be the same as the v2 boards.
- The pion detector test stand is also waiting on getting a VTP working
- Simona says that there is still a space issue in the test lab. Walt is considering shrinking our space in the test lab. Simona and Paul will try to discuss at consolidating the space we're using
