Agenda

  • PREX Tandem data
  • Simulation software updates
  • Documentation of Analysis and Readmes
  • GEM decoding, centroid ROOT files, and tracking

Attendance:

  • Attendance: Cameron, Tao, Chandan, Dustin, Carlos, Brady
  • Excused:

Minutes

  • Tao's GEM tracking analysis is able to get tracks very cleanly with the GEM cosmic stand in JLab TEST lab high bay setup.
    • Some cuts and analyses for angular distributions can already start being made.
    • This algorithm can be unleashed on SLAC test data, but the multiplicity question still needs to be answered, and the angular spread will be un-resolvable due to 2-GEM lack of constraints.
  • PREX analysis will be done with Hall A analyzer (PODD) with SBS Tree Search algorithm used (not Tao's algorithm).
  • "Tree Search" =/= ROOT Tree information, rather analysis logic chain: Wiki article, Ole's talk from 2007.
  • GEMs need some more attention before jumping into building the PREX counting mode DAQ - discuss later, and consider VME crate rates and space concerns.
  • Brady will begin working on analysis tasks more aggressively this week and for the rest of the semester.
    • Apply the poissonian beam multiplicity fit to all data runs? Add to analyzer or leave as a macro in github.
  • Carlos will look at PMT 1's gain over all runs to make sure its apparent very very large gain is real and what the cause is. PMT 2 is within 10% of gain expectations.
    • Devi will look into this PMT's linearity. Gain has risen from 1.2->1.6 x 10^6.
    • Could it be due to a bad or incorrect base? Brady will need to consider these things and look into the gain problem (possibly re-measure it at JLab).
