Agenda
- Status of envelopes (Chandan)
- Anything else needed from physicists for PDR?
- tungsten shields for the DS coils to reduce dose
- What shield thickness and at which locations - it might be best to pot these shields in with the coils so vendors will need to know this.
- Dipole moment in the bore
- tungsten shields for the DS coils to reduce dose
- Status of prep for PDR
Minutes
Attendance:
- Status of envelopes (Chandan)
- Algorithm is working
- envelopes for what hits detector plane
- ep done
- moller soon
- what gets through the collimators - next couple of days
- redo "default" to compare to the old method of making envelopes
- Anything else needed from physicists for PDR (March 8, slides done Mar. 1)
- tungsten shields for the DS coils to reduce dose
- What shield thickness and at which locations - it might be best to pot these shields in with the coils so vendors will need to know this.
- Need to know: what is the downstream dose?
- Don't need side plates in downstream
- will probably need cylinders
- allowable dose - 20-30 MGy vs. 30-40 MGy
- hasn't looked at the effect of dipole from offset coils (coll 6 handles this effect?)
- Dose on G10 or G11 'filler plates' for the coil windows
- probably not an issue for the downstream
- Need the plot of dose in downstream magnet (epoxy)
- for the specifications, are we going to do the mapping in the bore
- for the design review of the spectrometer as a whole...
- dipole moment in the bore
- doses have to be considered
- we know >50 G is unacceptable for the whole length
- tungsten shields for the DS coils to reduce dose
- Status of prep for PDR
- set of coils pending changes manufacturers need to add
- pre-production prototype
