Minutes
- No Detector Mechanics meeting next week, due to Collaboration meeting. David will be away the week after, KK will chair that meeting.
- (Larry): Worked in drive train for Main Detector rotation system. Has chosen a 1/4 hp commercial motor with max torque 3500 lb-in, sufficient to needs to hold in place with unbalanced load, and to overcome friction with balanced load. Will go from 0 to max speed of 1.4 rpm in 30 seconds; 2 minutes for 180 degree rotation. Need to have ferrous materials group sign off on the magnet in the motor and planned location. How will we assure that the rotated detector is in correct final azimuthal angle? Can use machinist's level and/or scribe marks after it is surveyed in.
- (Larry, Michael): discussion on reference point for defining correct location of MD system in the Hall in CAD. Consensus arrived at.
- (David): Chandika's new GEM rotator, with reduced width in Z, has been sent to Eric Sun (for checking with respect to new Bellows design), and to Mark/Dustin/Devi for check with respect to US Scanner. At present US face of Rotator wheel is located 18 cm from DS
face of barite/concrete wall.
