Minutes
- (Larry) No updates for this week on main detector mechanics.
- (David) Discovered after latest GEM Rotator CAD uploaded to Dan's central repository that we have violated keepout zone for barite wall, and present rotator overlaps with barite wall. Also, need to move downstream face of rotator upstream by 3 cm to avoid\ interference with US scanner system (it would need to be even more if we had Diffuse Beam Monitors at every azimuthal location, but Mark has agreed to remove the DBM that would be at the US scanner's azimuthal location). After discussion, decided to "shrink" the z-extent of the Rotator by about 12 cm to avoid the Barite wall conflict, and additional 3 cm for the scanner issue, i.e. by a total of about 18 cm. Will try to do this by reducing gap between GEM layers 1 and 2 and the gap between GEM layers 3 and 4. This seems likely to be possible, and should not affect the engineering much - Chandika will check.
- (Ryan) Will look at the request from the pion detector group to increase mass of pion Pb donut (be reducing ID of donut from 208 cm to 203 cm). Will add significant mass (around 50%).
