Agenda

  • Updates
  • General discussion

Minutes

Participants: Sudip Bhattarai, Buddhika Uduwaraarachchi, Andrew Hurley, Damon Spayde, Paul King, Juliette Mammei, Ryan Conaway, Anil Panta, Arindam Sen, Dustin McNulty, Sayak Chatterjee, Prakash

  • The minutes from last meeting were lost. Major discussion was about database support and if we wanted to use the mysql++ library (which had been removed from RedHat distribution but is still active)
  • Recent change on github: the "qwparity"
  • Sudip is trying to compile on MacOS but is running into issues
    • He'll put it up as an issue and we can follow up with Ole
  • Also Sudip asks about the numbering of the shower max detectors; he had been counting starting from zero, but what we have in the mock-data is counting from one.
    • Juliette has been looking in SharePoint to try to find a nomenclature document, but so far hasn't found it
    • We should follow-up with Michael and then make sure we put the nomenclature document somewhere easier to find.
  • Juliette and Buddhika have been continuing to work on visualization
    • They have a new image showing deviation of means and RMS from the center with 28 elements displayed
  • Kent had sent Juleitte all of the detector rates and asymmetries, but she hasn't had a chance to implement them in the mock data
  • Juliette has not yet tried the stand-alone version of panguin to see if the histogram support works for us
    • Also, we still haven't updated the histogram parameter file to match the mock-data
  • Juliette mentions that we do have access to the computeCanada machines. They need to apply annually for the resources to be used. We should think about how that can be the most useful, especially considering data transfer
  • Juliette makes the comment that the extra segmentation in ring 5 makes setting up loops more challenging. Also, most detector types have 28 elements, but then how to show ring 5? Maybe show all the "left", "center", and "right" element together?
    • Should we have the visualization group "similar" detectors together, or just go around the azimuth?
  • More on nomenclature
  • We will have a meeting next week, but Paul will not be available on 1 July.
