A short tour to keep track of what people are working on
- UVA
- Prakash: collar 2 and reduce bkg from collar 2
- Ryan: background from out of acceptable range. Tracking down weird up vs down asymmetry, to verify there is no geometry mismatch or field map offset.
- Eric: Ferromagnetic studies in coordination with UVA group
- It was noted that Dave Armstrong had requested a check on a GEM rotator component
- UMass:
- Sayak- target chamber exit window, thermal neutron at the pion detector, radiation at the GEM electronic rack;
- Andrew; new hyperon generator for pion photoproduction background, work with Neven Simicevic to incorporate all the pion backgrounds, DIS pions for instance work with EIC generator and SoLID generators
- Jhih-Ying; Fluka simulation to get local activation
- John Mott: Two bounce code, adding more geometry components into the script working with Sakib.
- Manitoba (Sakib)
- Luke working on 3D two bounce code
- support bar power deposition. Low stats simulations, now backed by higher statistics cross-check
- Science grid update: working with EIC collaboration to improve the job submission
- VaTech (Devi)
- Beamline background, in particular placing DBMs in SAM or scanner locations to look for rescattered or fringe field tails.
- Halo monitor detector simulations, upstream of the target
- SBU:
- Zuhal: no new simulations for deconvolution, yet. Next will be simulation with new GDML from M.Gericke for reduced ring 1 size.
- Vassu and Zuhal: simulation for smaller sieve holes, testing also tilt to vary edge scattering and look for degradation. Planning for bid soon: should bring this work to show at Thursday simulation meeting.
- General discussion on possible topics of interest in near term
- GEM coverage for tracks to R1 (probably no coverage) and R2. We'd like to know how well we can look at illumination of these monitors
- Detector response studies
- Wedge response in optical simulation. Important for deconvolution, can be studied later but would be timely now to prepare for probable beam test in September
- Funnel background - same. Blackened quartz might be used in upcoming beam test, it would be helpful to have a simulation guide to plan.
