#[James] (SBU GEms) - SBU_01 production module complete; required 8 days for assembly. HV study with X-rays looks good. Odd "high gain" hot-spots (each < 1cm^2 in area, one per HV sector) at locations where x-ray source had been pointed, lasts for several days. Probably not an issue, but a puzzle. Next: cosmic-ray muons study. SBU_02 well underway. Noted some of the honeycombs had hairs glued in - should not be a problem. Also, one out of the 14 cathode foils have on-hand was missing one of the 4 gas holes. Will wait on using this one. Rui could drill it out at CERN, or we could do at SBU. Testing tales 5 days, can be done in parallel with next GEM assembly. First shipment from SBU to JLab with 4 modules, expected date, end of March. Will be shipped in a box to hold 5 modules, nitrogen-flushed airtight box; will bring the box back to SBU for next shipment.

#[David] Can we consider SBU 2nd and 3rd prototypes to be "production" modules? Everyone agrees.

#[Asar] (JLab cosmic stand) - UVA production GEM "Prod_02" now in cosmic stand, so we have three layers of MOLLER tracking GEMs in the stand. Flushing with lN2 now, will go to HV-on with premix gas over weekend.

#[Rakitha] (TS) Still see puzzling odd/even effect in channels of time difference spectra even when inputs are  discriminated signals (logic pulses). Can see it also in single-event waveform display (but, of course, not in 'scope trace images). Something to do with the CAEN digitizer module? Will try brute-force time difference spectrum using 'scope. Maybe also borrow FADC250 to try. Need to resolve measurement of time resolution before we go to the Technical Board.
 +
#[Chandika] Still a very small interference with new TS/PMT mounting concept from La Tech - need to make the plastic box holding the PMT a bit smaller. The box & PMT is supported from the TS frame. Do we also need to attached box to GEM support frame? Could do so (add an L-bracket, a couple of bolts holes). Decide may not be needed, may be robust enough with only support from TS frame. Will hold off on that decision until can test mounting in GEM frame.
 +
#[Huong] Still waiting on remaining parts from CERN - should be shipped in next week or two. Meanwhile, UVa shop is buidling large GEMs for LAD experiment (and, in parallel, the Moller polarimeter GEMs). Will return to MOLLER tracking GEMs after LAD assembly complete.

  1. [James] (SBU GEms) - SBU_01 production module complete; required 8 days for assembly. 2. [David] Can we consider SBU 2nd and 3rd prototypes to be "production" modules? Everyone agrees.
  3. [Asar] (JLab cosmic stand) - UVA production GEM "Prod_02" now in cosmic stand, so we have three layers of MOLLER tracking GEMs in the stand. Flushing with lN2 now, will go to HV-on with premix gas over weekend.
  4. [Rakitha] (TS) Still see puzzling odd/even effect in channels of time difference spectra even when inputs are discriminated signals (logic pulses). 5. [Chandika] Still a very small interference with new TS/PMT mounting concept from La Tech - need to make the plastic box holding the PMT a bit smaller. The box & PMT is supported from the TS frame. Do we also need to attached box to GEM support frame? Could do so (add an L-bracket, a couple of bolts holes).
